photographic works micheal paul cole

My photographs are less about documentation and more about the senses. I want my images to be organic, animated by the curling of paper and feel of decay.

Each photograph has three creative lives. First, in the camera, using 4 by 5 inch sheet film. Then, in the darkroom where I process the film and print each photograph on gelatin silver paper using various darkroom techniques. Finally, on the work table where I stain and tint the photograph with oil pigments, varnish and tar.
